Dr. Nihad Salifu graduated from the University of Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, with a Degree in Medicine (MB.CHB). She is a Senior Specialist (Paediatric Oncology) at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ghana.

She is the Co-Chair of the Twinning and Collaboration Group of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) & Paediatric Oncology in Developing Countries (PODC). She is a Committee Member of the Development of Newborn Standards for Ghana, Ghana Health Service. Dr Salifu is a National Facilitator of the Newborn Resuscitation and Essential Newborn Care of the Ghana Health Service. As well as being a Facilitator for the Paediatric Oncology Twinning Workshops and several other training sessions and workshops.

She has attended and presented at numerous Seminars, Conferences, and Workshops around the world including the World Haematology Congress, London, UK, The 11th Advanced Paediatric Oncology Conference, Edinburgh, UK, The International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) Congress, Kyoto - Japan, the 4th Edition of Merck Foundation Annual Conference “Merck Africa Asia Luminary”(Oncology), Cairo - Egypt, the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) Congress, Washington DC, U.S.A, amongst several others.
