Hannah Adjei-Mensah RGN, PGDip, Cert, MScPH

Hannah is a product of the University of Ghana – School of Nursing; where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Psychology. She was then employed by the Ministry of Health as a Nurse Tutor at the Asankrangwa Health Assistants Training school for some time, after which she went to pursue a Post Diploma course in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. While on the course, she joined the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital as a Nursing Officer working at the National Cardiothoracic Center. Her diligence, hard work and commitment to duty granted her a Government scholarship to study a Master of Science course in Public Health from the Royal Tropical Institute in The Netherlands. Her Master’s thesis looked at “Optimizing Performance of Healthcare Workers at the Primary Care Level”.

Hannah has over nine years’ experience in the healthcare industry with experience in Health Education, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Nursing, Occupational Health & Safety, and Public Health Management. She currently works as an Occupational Health and Safety practitioner and coordinates the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Her interest is to promote the health and safety of workers with high target interventions to improve wellbeing, productivity and job performance. She is a “Vision Zero” trainer with the International Labour Organization/International Social Security Association. With multidisciplinary training at the master’s level in areas such as Human Resources for Health, Health Systems Management and Policy, Health Financing, Health and Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Management, she collaborates with several institutions and organizations through consultation and training.

Hannah also works with institutions such the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, UNICEF, and other development partners on Social Protection, women empowerment and poverty alleviation.
