Professor Yao Tettey is a Professor of Pathology at the University of Ghana Medical School, College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana and a Consultant Pathologist at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra Ghana. He graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School, Accra with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB.CHB). He also had a Diploma in Clinical Pathology at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, University of London.

He is a Fellow of West African College of Physicians, a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Fellow of Royal College of Physicians.

Professor Tettey is a member of a number of professional bodies, including Ghana Medical Association, Association of Clinical Pathologists - Britain, West African Division of the International Academy of Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and Brighton Collaboration.

His professional interest includes General Pathology, Perinatal, Neonatal and Pediatric Pathology, Pathology of the female genital system including breast diseases; Male infertility in Ghana; diseases of the Prostate and Medical Audit.

Prof. Tettey was the Head of the Department of Pathology (2002-2007), Vice Dean and Dean of the University of Ghana Medical School (2008 – 2012, and Provost of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana (2013 – 2016). He is a member of many committees of the University of Ghana, University of Ghana Medical School, Ministry of Health, Ghana, West African College of Physicians, Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Food and Drugs Authority, Ghana.

Prof. Tettey has received a lot of professional honours and recognitions from the Ghana Medical Students Association, Best Teacher Award from by the University of Ghana and Gold Medal award from the West African College of Physicians.

He has attended several national and international conferences and workshops where he played key roles, presented papers, posters, and research findings. He has over 80 publications which includes:
