The African coaLition for Epidemic Research, Response, and Training (ALERRT) is a multi-disciplinary consortium which combines the strengths of 21 leading African and European partner organisations from nine African and four European countries to provide a research response to epidemics across sub-Saharan Africa.

The ALERRT in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), is undertaking a survey titled 'Perceptions and Preparedness of Healthcare Workers regarding Local Infection Prevention and Control Procedures for COVID-19' in all member countries.

Course Description

This training module will become available to you upon completing the survey. It is made up of lecture videos and an assessment to update health care workers on COVID-19. The training is crafted to be concise and self-paced, but with an expiration date.


What you will learn

The training is aimed at increasing the knowledge of health care workers to enable them to stay safe, readily screen, isolate and treat suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 in their line of duty.

1. To review the knowledge of Basic information on COVID-19
2. To review current recommendations in Appropriate use of Personal Projective Equipment (PPE)
3. To review current recommendations on Testing, Imaging and Laboratory Information of COVID-19
4. To study the current recommendations on Treatment and Vaccines
